Hae Kyung Lee received her Bachelor of Arts from Ewha University in Seoul, Korea and her Master of Arts from UCLA. She studied in Paris, France under Peter Goss. Ms. Lee is the artistic director, founder and choreographer of Hae Kyung Lee & Dancers, and has performed throughout Switzerland, France, Germany, England, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the United States. She is a founding member of the Chopsticks & Sneakers Dance Company, Fall Ahead Dance and Performance Festival, and Contemporary Dance Company.

Hae Kyung Lee has been invited to perform in International and National Dance Festivals such as: Belluard Bollwerk International (BBI) Festival in Fribourg, Switzerland; The Dancing on the Edge Festival in Vancouver, Canada; Festspielhaus Hellerau in Germany; Tanzwoche International Dance Festival in Dresden, Germany; Kleines Haus Spaapsschaupiel Dance Festival in Germany; Café de la dance and the Mandapa Theater in Paris, France; the International Korean Dance Festival in Seoul, Korea; Montreal International Dance Festival, in Canada; Universitaet Mainz, Germany; the ChangMu International Dance Festival in Korea; the LG Arts International Dance Festival in Seoul, Korea; The Los Angeles Olympic Arts Festival; The Asian American Choreographer’s Showcase; the Getty Museum; the ODC Theatre in San Francisco; Soho Arts Festival in New York; and Danse Fraiche at Sushi Performance Gallery.

Hae Kyung Lee has been a recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National State County Partnership, The Durfee Foundation, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Department of Cultural Affairs City of Los Angeles, the California Arts Council, U.S. Artists at International Festivals, (COLA) City of Los Angeles Individual Artist Fellowship, the James Irvine Foundation California Dance Maker Choreography Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts Choreography Fellowship.
